The idea for writing Humphry The Church Mouse as an apologue (allegory) came to me in early 2000. The writing went quickly. Over the years I have (sort of) searched for an audience, thinking it might be a read-to-me illustrated book for children; a little like, but certainly no comparison with other such allegories (Gulliver's Travels comes to mind). I have submitted it as a gift and had it declined for reasons unrelated to the story per se. So, I decided just to put it "out there" and not worry about copywrite, illustrations, etc. If it sets anyone thinking, that will be a reward; and if not.......it's not my burden.
